After ten years of making feature docs and movies, we know a thing or two about edit rooms. And to be honest, they're not always that good: white boxes, strip lighting, utilitarian furniture, the list could go on, but we don't need to labour the point. In the end, we built our own edit suite in a building in Frith Street.
Anyway, when further floors became available, we decided to design a bespoke environment for those who want a more inspirational and creative work-space - a work-space over three floors, two roof terraces, and very importantly, always a beer in the fridge.
Also importantly, the rooms are soundproofed and very, very secure. It's a self contained building, no strangers wandering around - perfect for those highly confidential projects. And if it's a VERY confidential project, you can book out the whole place.
It is not only the building, but also the location. Soho has been the center of the film industry since the silent movies. In fact its been the spiritual home of all the visual arts since the early twentieth century. Apparently, if you have a particularly good night out with clients, you can see the ghosts of Francis Bacon and Lucian Freud falling out of the French House at closing time!
7 cutting rooms in total, and all can be converted into production offices or meeting rooms. All have great artwork including original vintage film posters, lamps and antique cinema door handles!
